Texto 1

The Declaration of Human Rights Speech

Articles 4 & 18

Do you feel free practising your religion?

Do you feel free in your own work place?

Do you feel free in your social group?

If the answer to these questions in no, then what can we do to change that?

Through my life I have suffered discrimination which brutally affected me in many ways, ways that made me feel like an outcast, unworthy, useless.

The fact that some of us have different religions, races and genders shouldn't make us feel any less important or worthy of respect.

As James Baldwin once said " Not everything that is faced can be changed, but nothing can be changed until it is faced".

This is a problem that is still being avoided by our society even though it affects all of us.

Do not be afraid to raise your voice and stand your ground. By not being quiet, you’re giving somone else a voice.

  Speech

What if you had to live in an airport with no documents? My name is Mehran Nasseri and this happened to me.

I was arrested during a demonstration in 1975. Then I was tortured until they deported me. On my way to England, I was stopped in Paris because I had lost my documents and, for 8 years, I was forced to live in an airport. For this reason, I started my fight against torture and for the right to a nationality.

Nowadays, we don’t give enough attention to these basic rights. We take them for granted. But this should not happen. There are people all around the world that don’t have these rights. So, for a better and more balanced society, we shall stay together and fight for what is right. It could be by participating in demonstrations or giving voice to your ideas and thoughts.

We are responsible for our world, we are responsible for our future, we are responsible for our society and we are responsible for our rights.

And for this, I ask you: please fight for our rights as a society and as human beings! Don’t let anyone treat you in a way you don’t deserve to be treated and never do to others what you wouldn’t like to be done to you. We are all human and we deserve to be respected.

        Texto 3

Will you let yourself be silenced?

As you might know, I have been missing for a few weeks. My name is Peng Shuai. And I

unfortunately live in a country where I cannot speak freely.

Since I was born I have felt that my words weren’t valuable, my words were restricted, my words weren’t accepted. And that made me fear for my life. That’s why I am here today, to share my story.

Recently, I published a post where I made you know about a sexual assault by the vice-president.

We all have the same rights and my right to speak was taken away.

Our country needs an urgent change. Not just me, but we are victims, we are silenced, we are oppressed.

We cannot let this slide. Being silenced isn’t an option. Our government doesn't want us to speak so that they can continue with their dictatorship.

We are the future, we have the power to change, we have to work together as one. They

fear our voices because they know we have the strength to put an end to this. Will you

let yourself be silenced?

Afghanistan needs to change

Women in Afghanistan need your help! And I'm here today to tell you why. As I'm giving this speech, women and girls are locked at home washing the dishes, doing the laundry and cooking. Where is the liberty? Where is gender equality? While men are out enjoying their lives, women are imprisoned in a jail called “home”. Since that remarkable day, when the Taliban took control of Afghanistan once again, the list of rules that violate women's rights is back. And now you ask yourself, what does this mean? It basically means that no human rights are respected, mainly article 1. “All human beings are born free and equal”. This is definitely not the case. Could you imagine yourself being forbidden to leave the house, to go to work or to go to school just because of your gender? Could you live your whole life like a slave in the 1800's? I doubt it! Living trapped at home and being forbidden to do what you want is not acceptable! We need to do something to stop this now! I always had the idea of a great and peaceful world where dreams can come true and together we can build it not only for ourselves but for everyone. And that's what Afghanistan needs

 NATAL
